Preparation is Key

Add to Memories Share
I'm about to attend a Resume writing and Interview strategies workshop on campus so I can start getting my resume final drafted and get myself out there for a full time job. I've also been in contact with a couple of people who work for AstraZeneca to get some ideas of what I need to be doing to get into pharmaceutical sales. I really would like to get a great job after I graduate that can lead to long term cause I've seen how hard it's been for Jason to find a full time job and stay. The job market is really bad right now and I want to get jump on it.

RUSH!

Add to Memories Share
Jason and I went to see Rush last night and it was pretty awesome. The place was completely packed and they ended up playing for more than 3 hours, which is why they are awesome. The only dissapointment Jason and I had was that they didn't play 2112, which would've have made the night 10 times better. What's crazy is that my mom saw them when she was a teenager and now I've seen them in my 20s. Regardless of what they didn't play, it was still sweet ass.

So close yet so far...

Is it just me or is everyone else graduating? I swear that most of my class from high school have done and graduated and I still have another semester! I wanna be done so I don't have to worry about grades and tests anymore, since this semester was so freakin close. Two of my classes came down to the final and I had to wait what felt like forever to find out if I passed or not, which I had. It's such a relief because I know I can graduate in August instead of in December. Now I just have to work the next two months away, make a little extra money, then buckle down for 6 weeks to finish my collegiate years. I'm extremely excited. Plus I know I will be graduating with a couple of my friends, and that will be nice too.

Tis all for now.

I wish I had a mother...

Add to Memories Share
Yesterday, after coming back from my doctor's appointment and calling my grandma for the third time that day, my grandma answered the phone and talked to me as if it was a chore. She has also been acting that way about anything wedding related. She never really seemed happy for me, just congenial and nice. So after realizing all of this, I broke down and cried on my way home. I cried because I'm jealous of people like Nikki who has such a great relationship with her mom and because I wish my grandma was happier for me. I want a maternal figure who gets excited about my engagement, just like Jason's mom did. I want someone who is eager to start planning with me and is there for me for anything. My grandma can't do that and neither can my mom. I've never had strong parental figures in my life and I'm starting to feel it now. Hopefully, my new in laws will be able to fill that void I've had my entire life.

I just really wish I had a mother

My New Obsession

Add to Memories Share
My new favorite obsession... the tv show "Lost". Jason's boss lent us the first season on DVD to watch, telling us we would love it. Well, we do, and we're renting the 2nd season's dvds in hopes we'll be caught up for the new episode coming next week. All the little twists and turns makes this show so freakin addictive and we've been in the habit of watching 4 episodes a night sometimes, just cause it's that good.

I know people are going to die soon, and I heard that Season 3 was going to be a romantic season, which is what I'm hoping for cause I want to see Kate with either Jack or Sawyer, it doesn't matter to me. I'm so excited about the new episodes that I've put it in my calendar. I have to replace Nip/Tuck and Deadliest Catch with something, don't I?

Getting back to the grind

Add to Memories Share
I'm going to take my first exam of the semester on Friday and I'm nervous. I have more pressure on me this semester than ever because I don't have the money to stay in college any longer. I want to do really well in my classes and I want to be dedicated all semester long and not slack off near the end. That is my biggest goal this year by far. After that, it's find a job lol.

Speaking of job, I'm contemplating switching jobs but I also need to talk to some sales reps in pharmaceutical companies to see if I need to get any experience out of the way or get into some internships. The real world is coming up rather quickly and I need to be prepared.

That's pretty much all for now.

Two days of Birthday

Add to Memories Share
The first day, the actual birthday, was pretty much one of the worst ever. A combination of things occured to make it that way and I ended my night not bowling with friends but crying myself to sleep instead. The notes from friends on both websites were nice but couldn't make the day any better.

I hoped the next day, although not my real birthday, would make up for the depressing day I had before. It did. I narrowly escaped getting dropped out of my Organic Chem class due to mixing up the discussion class day. Jason took me to lunch and also got me a Dooney and Burke wallet, which I absolutely love. We pretty much hung around until we met my grandparents at Jotos Steakhouse for dinner. It was awesome and the Japanese guy was cracking us up, calling Jason "Mr. Mandy" and saying our names everytime he gave us food. My grandparents gave me The Devil Wears Prada dvd and $100. Then Jason and I got home and watched The Little Mermaid, which he also got me. It was a much better day than my birthday and I'm glad everything worked out well.

Football for the win!

Add to Memories Share
This is the first year that all my favorite college teams have won their bowls... USF, FSU, and LSU all did an ass whooping this bowl season so that makes me happy. Now if the Gators could lose, that would make it the best bowl season ever!

But football is almost over and that makes me le sad :(

Another year, Another chance

Add to Memories Share
I like to think of the New Year has a new beginning... It's a new semester of school, the year I get to graduate, and lord knows what other milestones this year will bring. I usually don't make resolutions because I'm bad at keeping them but my resolution this year is obvious... To graduate in the summer. That means kicking my ass to pass all my classes, however hard they are, and not giving up when the end is so close.

My New Year's Party was fun, everyone else had a good time and I got my New Year's kiss from my baby. I can't wait to spend the next year with him and see where we are at this time next year. Last year, we were looking out our hotel window in Charlotte, NC. at the fireworks in the distance, only being together 3 months. Now it's almost 15 months and I've never been happier. Thanks to my friends and especially my sweetheart for making 2006 a great year.

All I want for Christmas is you....

Add to Memories Share
So Christmas was fun. After working a horrible 8 hour shift at BBB on Christmas Eve, Jason and I headed over to Plant City to have dinner with my grandparents and 20 other people. There were kids running around everywhere but the food was amazing. After everyone left, Jason and I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is a tradition for me cause it's so funny. Then we spent the night so we could be there Christmas morning.

On Christmas, we had breakfast and opened gifts. I got a crap load of gift cards, bath rugs, a really soft robe, and an awesome shirt from Jason that says "Real Women Don't Date Yankees Fans", among other things. I got Jason a Red Sox beanie and ornament. We then stayed for Christmas lunch, which was sooo good and left to hang out together. It was a great Christmas and I know my grandparents appreciated Jason and I coming and spending it with them.

Today I got to see my friend Lindsay who I have known since 4th grade, she's home from UF for Christmas and we met up at the new mall in Lakeland. It was really great to see her since she is the person who had known me the longest out of everyone. I also bought some textbooks for school and cleaned up.

Happy Birthday Nikki!
